For the Base Layer (Chocolate Cake):
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• ½ cup cocoa powder
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1 tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp salt
• 1 large egg
• ½ cup whole milk
• ½ cup hot water or coffee (enhances the chocolate flavor)
• ⅓ cup vegetable oil
• 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Dark Chocolate Mousse Layer:
• 1 cup semisweet or dark chocolate chips
• 1 cup heavy cream, divided

For the Milk Chocolate Mousse Layer:
• 1 cup milk chocolate chips
• 1 cup heavy cream, divided
For the White Chocolate Mousse Layer:
• 1 cup white chocolate chips
• 1 cup heavy cream, divided

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Base Layer:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Add egg, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Slowly add hot water or coffee and mix until combined (batter will be thin).

4. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely.

Step 2: Prepare the Mousse Layers:
Each mousse layer follows the same process:
1. Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips in 30-second intervals until smooth. Let cool slightly.

2. Whip the cream: Whip ½ cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form.

3. Combine: Gently fold the whipped cream into the melted chocolate until smooth.
